Churches
Most of the work on churches is carried out by Adam Voelcker. The work includes:
quinquennial inspections
repair work to churches
re-ordering church interiors
extending churches or creating rooms, kitchen, wcs etc within the church
Clients include local PCCs, Friends of redundant churches, the Friends of Friendless Churches (England and Wales).
Our approach to repairing churches is a conservationist one - removing as little fabric as possible, but where replacement is necessary, doing so with traditional materials and techniques. Yet at the same time, we recognise that churches are not museums and must move with the times from a liturgical point of view. Sometimes this causes conflict between the church clients and the conservationist lobby - a conflict which we relish, and one where we believe we can see both sides of the argument. The challenge is, of course, to reconcile the two and to keep everyone happy.
